International Glass Art Symposium GLASSJAZZ started in Panevėžys
“For the fifth time, GLASSJAZZ in Panevėžys brings together glass art, jazz music, and photography into a harmonious synthesis. I’m delighted that this event has become an integral part of our city’s cultural identity. Panevėžys has always valued art and culture, and today you are strengthening that tradition. I’m confident the symposium will once again provide new impressions for both participants and spectators. I wish everyone creative success, inspiration, and the joy of being together,” said Panevėžys Mayor Rytis Račkauskas.
The event is being held at the only such in Panevėžys glass art studio GLASSREMIS. The owner and the symposium founder Remigijus Kriukas gathered the artists from Lithuania and abroad. This year, 15 artists from various countries are participating, including Israel, the USA, Latvia, Poland, Ukraine, Germany and Lithuania. Among the recognized artists are Louis Sakalovsky, Michael Rogers, Inguna Audere, Aleksandras Logvinas, etc. Lithuania is represented by Remigijus Kriukas, Vygantas Paulauskas, Ričardas Peleckas, Laura Rainė and Paulius Rainys. Throughout the symposium, the artistic creations of the glass masters will be accompanied by music from well-known jazz musicians Leonid Šinkarenko, Vytautas Labutis and Andrius Savčenka. The creative moments will be captured by photographers Arvydas Gudas, Audrys Guokas, Gediminas Kartanas, Marius Rudžianskas and Paulius Židonis.
For the entire week, the residents of Panevėžys and visitors are invited to observe the creative workshops. The closing event of the symposium and the opening of the artwork exhibition will take place on September 29 at Panevėžys City Art Gallery. The project is partially funded by Panevėžys City Municipality.
