Thirty years ago, an agreement on cultural cooperation was signed between Austria and Lithuania, thus establishing official relations with the Land of Salzburg. Panevėžys and Salzburg have many things in common - a few years ago, the community of Panevėžys had the opportunity to enjoy the music of Austrian composers played in the Cathedral of Christ the King, to visit the excellent exhibition of graphic works and photographs by Salzburg city artists Hanne Engelhart, Peter Rieder and Regina Rieder in the Art Gallery. Today we are happy to see you here and we are proud to present a modern, regional open access center STEAM, which encourages young people from Panevėžys to be interested in sciences", said Deputy Mayor of Panevėžys Lauras Jagminas.

A delegation from the Landtag of the Austrian State of Salzburg visited the STEAM center, where they met with representatives of the Panevėžys City Municipality, the Panevėžys Development Agency, and the business and educational community. Cooperation in the context of culture and economic development was discussed during the meeting.
