Foreign Delegations Came to Congratulate Panevėžys
It is becoming a magnificent tradition that delegations from partner cities come to congratulate Panevėžys on its birthday. This year is not an exception. Delegations from the cities of Vinnytsia (Ukraine), Ramla (Israel), Lünen (Germany) and Lublin (Poland) came to congratulate the capital of Aukštaitia celebrating its 520th birthday.
“"I am very happy to see you coming to the 520th birthday of the city of Panevėžys. I hope you are ready for a great weekend in our city. Your visit to Panevėžys is a pleasant appreciation of our city. I hope that we will fully meet your expectations. I wish you all the best possible experiences here, in festive Panevėžys", said Panevėžys City Mayor Rytis Račkauskas.
The delegations of partner cities will participate in festive city events, visit Panevėžys Art Gallery, the Local Lore Museum, and the "Kalnapilis" brewery. Tomorrow, September 9, in the afternoon the guests will take part in the solemn flag-hoisting ceremony organised by the City Municipality. In the evening, the guests will take part in the festive parade procession.
