Free Outdoor Training Sessions for Seniors start in Panevėžys
The "Active Aging" project in Panevėžys welcomes winter with new initiatives. Starting coming Monday (January 27) at 4:00 PM, free exercise sessions for seniors will begin at the newly installed workout area in the Culture and Leisure Park.
The sessions, led by professional trainers, will be conducted in small groups of up to 15 people. Participants will work on improving body control, strengthening muscles and balance, which will help reduce the risk of falls and improve overall well-being. Residents of Panevėžys are encouraged to come and try the free exercise sessions with the equipment, which will be held over the next few months.
The Panevėžys City Municipality, aiming to improve the quality of life for its residents, is implementing the "Active Aging" project under the 2021–2027 Interreg VI-A Latvia-Lithuania Cross-Border Cooperation Program, aimed at increasing the social integration of seniors and people with disabilities in the border regions of Latvia and Lithuania. A total of 15 stationary fitness machines, specially designed for outdoor conditions, and three game tables have been purchased with project funds. These facilities are intended for people of various ages and fitness levels, including individuals with disabilities. Each machine has adjustable weights, allowing easy customization to individual needs.
Those interested in participating are invited to register by calling (+370) 45 504 485. Please note that the number of spots is limited.
