The Mayor met the Delegation from the Partner City of Goes

EVRZ Elderly Care Home in Goes and Panevėžys St. Joseph Elderly Care Home implement a common prpject "Care and Services for Elderly People". With the help of people from Goes Panevėžys received 26 functional beds. Special thanks goes to Coby Traas, the Director of Tel Weel Elderly Care Home and Panevėžys-Goes Partnership Committee.

The Mayor of Panevėžys remembered that he together with the Chairman of the City Council at that time Tomas Josas took part in signing the Letter of Cooperation Intent in Goes in 1992.

" I am really glad that for over 20 years cooperation and friendship continues and it is especially vivid in the field of social care. I do believe that friendship becomes stronger with years. We very much appreciate the support and the experience we receive",- said the Mayor R. Račkauskas.

The member of Goes-Panevėžys Partnership Committee Eric Debaut, visiting Panevėžys not for the first time, presented the Mayor with report of the activities in 2015. Traditionally, every year, Lithuanian evening is organised in Goes where H. E. Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania in the Netherlands was present. Panevėžys, its possibilities  and Lithuania have been presented during the meeting.

The students of Panevėžys M. Rimkevičaitė Technological School  did Gardening Internship in Goes. A common project in the field of elderly care is being implemented. The exhibition of Lithuanian sashes and a national costume has been organised the History Museum of Goes. Financial support has been provided to A. Bandza Children's Home for educational programmes and for the renewal of the school garden of M. Rimkevičaitė Technological School.
