Before the visit to the Municipality, the Ambassador of Israel in Lithuania met with the Jewish community of Panevėžys, visited the Jewish heritage objects in the city, and later left for Šeduva.

The Municipality of Panevėžys is cooperating with the Israeli city of Ramla. In 2019, the City Council approved that Panevėžys should officially establish partnership relations and conclude a cooperation agreement with the City of Ramla.
