A Visit of the Nominee of Nobel Prize K. Abdulla to Panevėžys

The Mayor of Panevėžys City Vitalijus Satkevičius shortly presented the city and expressed joy for the friendly contacts of the guest with Panevėžys. "We are happy that you visited the city. I hope that this wonderful friendship will result in cooperation between cities in the future and we can have closer cultural, sports, education and economical contacts",- said the Mayor.
During the first visit to Panevėžys K. Abdulla said that he was satisfied about the visit and met nice people. "We know that there is an excellent theatre where excellent actors and theatre directors used to work. Today, it is a great honour for me to visit your city and I am extremely glad that the Mayor shared his time with me. Panevėžys is close to my heart as I celebrate a birthday of my book here",- said K. Abdulla.
The writer from Azerbaijan will visit the Art Glass Studio "Glassremis", a visit of K. Abdulla to Juozas Miltinis Theatre is also planned. The writer will meet the theatre director Romualdas Vikšraitis there.
A meeting of K. Abdulla with the inhabitants of Panevėžys will take place in the Conference Hall of Gabrielė Petkevičaitė- Bitė Public Library where his book "A Valley of Thaumaturges" will be presented. The book was translated into Lithuanian and editted by the teacher of Lithuanian of Panevėžys Mykolas Karka Basic School Lionė Lapinskienė. It was published by Educology Printing House.
The creation of a well known Azerbaijan writer shows humanistic ideals of Love, Truth and Good. The works of K. Abdulla in Lithuanian are presented for the first time.
