Daugavpils Football Academy and Panevėžys Football Academy have been implementing a joint project WE ARE FOOTBALL, supported by Lithuanian and Latvian Territorial Cooperation Programme 2007-2013.

While presenting Panevėžys City the Mayor V. Satkevičius stressed that the inhabitants of Panevėžys love football,  CIDO Arena with lots of sports events was mentioned. 

According to the representatives of Daugavpils delegation they were surprised that both partner cities are so similar-the same reforms are being implemented, emgration problems are felt, transport infrastructure is facing the same obstacles.

The Director of Panevėžys Football Academy Darius Butkus and the guests from Daugavpils do not doubt that joint projects bring mutual benefit and they have to be continued.

The project WE ARE FOOTBALL has been implemented for a year and will be finished in June. 12 football tournaments for children, seminars for ciaches were organised in both cities.
