The Exhibition of Youth Day Care Centre in the City Hall of Panevėžys
At present, JDC implements the project LAERN. DREAM. DISCOVER. It is financed by the help of EU programme ACTIVE YOUTH. It is carried out by 4 volunteers from Austria, France, Italy and Georgia. They are the assistants of a social worker. The chosen activities include ceramics, art, sport, household works, IT, music, technologies, theatre, wool felt, etc. The foreigners help young people with special needs who cannot manage to work with a group.
The volunteers implement their own projects, organise exhibitions, concerts, meetings, trips, festivals and sports competitions for mentally handicapped people.
They alos spread the idea of volunteering in city institutions.
"The aim of this exhibition is to show everybody that the people I have beeen working with since September are wonderful. To my mind, most of them are considerably better than some from us",- says Mari.
