The artists from Iceland Anna Eyjolfsdottir, Eriksina Kr. Asgrimsdottir, Ragnhildur Stefansdottir, Thordis Alda Sigurdardottir and Thuridur Sigurdardottir visited Lithuania for the first time 4 years ago. At that time they took part in the modern art fair ART VILNIUS 2009.

The exhibited works at CHRONOTOPOLOGY are specially created for this exhibition and they were presented for the first time in Vilnius, in the Gallery ARKA of the Union of Lithuanian Painters last autumn. The artists use various techniques to express their ideas: photography, painting, sculpture, instalation and video. The Group START ART is well known in Iceland and is an active participant in national and international exhibitions. The representative of the group Thordis A. Sigurdardottir will come to the opening of the exhibition to Panevėžys, comment the works and tell about the activities of the group.

According to one of the participant of the exhibition Eriksina Kr. Asgrimsdottir, the name of the exhibition is derived from two words CHRONOLOGY and TOPOLOGY. The members of START ART group made and formed their ideology which analyses the concepts of time, places and history. The places where the stories are told, remembered and forgotten or ignored are discussed. It is hard to understand CHRONOTOPOLOGY. It is the scene which changes rapidly. Time and place cross and unite there. It is forming our culture constantly.
