The Mayor presented city economy, investment environment, culture, sports, education, tourism and other spheres. The guest was interested in administrational territorial structure of the country, its management.

" I am very much interested in getting acquainted with Panevėžys, its economy but most of all I am interested in culture. I have heard that the city is rich in cultural events. I would like to develop regional cooperation between Lithuania and Romania. I see some common points- we also like ceramics, next year we also going to take part in the film festival. I am the Ambassador to Lithuania and Latvia, I often pass through Panevėžys. So, your city is important to me",- said the Ambassador D. A. Balanescu.

" This meeting is a perfect opportunity to continue cooperation in culture and business fields. I am pleased that the Ambassador stresses the relations of different fields on regional level. We are separated from Romania by one thousand kilometres- it is a trip of one day",- said the Mayor Vitalijus Satkevičius.

After the meeting in the Municipality the Ambassador went to the company "Lietkabelis", later G. Petkevičaitė-Bitė Library and the Art Gallery were visited.
