The exhibition discloses the city urban changes in 22 years of independence. The exposition shows a city at that time:  the constructed buildings of schools, hospitals, churches, banks, institutions of local authorities, factories, bridges and living houses. The architects who used to work in the city , city plans and historical pictures of Panevėžysys are also presented.

According to the construction speed Panevėžys was among the leaders in Lithuania in 1933. Jewish Bank in Respublikos Street, the building of Panevėžys Volost Authorities in Smėlynė Street, a reconstructed Soap Factory in Staniūnų Street and other public buildings were built. Living houses were rapidly started to be built. Buildings constructed over 8 decades ago not just decorate the city as the heritage monuments but fuction perfectly as well. Panevėžys Health Insurance Fund, the Policlinics of Panevėžys District, Panevėžys Special Scool, Panevėžys Office of  Special Investigation Services, Panevėžys Branch of Lithuanian Security Department, Panevėžys District Court develop their activities in modern architecture buildings conctructed during the times when Lithuania was independent. This short but vivid period left a more significant mark in Panevėžys architecture than the former centuries.

The exhibition is prepared with the educational programme. The exhibition is open till August 3.
