On March 3, Panevėžys City Puppet Wagon Theatre group leaves for the Homeland of H. K. Andersen, Denmark. On March 5, in Aalborg they will present a performance on the motives of the fairy tale “The Snow Queen” (stage director V. Mazūras).
The group of Panevėžys Puppet Theatre was invited on the special occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Danish-Lithuanian Friendship Association. It is a great honour for the theatre to represent Lithuanian culture in H. K. Andersen's birthplace. The friendship with the famous Danish storyteller's work is deep and strong. The following performances based on H.K. Andersen's fairy tales were staged in the theatre: "The Little Match Girl", "A Tinderbox", "Thumbelina", "Nightingale", "Snow Queen". In 2003, in Odense (Denmark) the manager of the Panevėžys Puppet Wagon Theatre Antanas Markuckis was awarded the honourable prize of H. K. Andersen.
