European Youth Triathlon Cup Competitions took place in Panevėžys

"It is a great pleasure to welcome the participants of the triathlon festival, which takes place not anywhere else, but in the capital of Lithuanian triathlon - Panevėžys. Today we see here the strongest youth triathlon athletes from all over Europe. I hope that the updated infrastructure is comfortable and suitable for achieving the highest results. I hope that the excellent conditions will attract more events of this high level. Well, now I congratulate everyone who completed the distances, I congratulate the winners and I wish them the best possible success in future competitions", said Panevėžys City Mayor Rytis Račkauskas.
30 girls and 30 boys of 15-19 years old took part. Seven Panevėžys athletes represented the Lithuanian national team in the competition: Ugnė Paurytė, Džiugas Karklelis, Vilgustė Gustaitytė, Rasa Bartasūnaitė (coach Vidmantas Urbonas), Jomilė Pribušauskaitė, Kristupas Rimkus (coach Alina Ranceva) and Rugilė Girštautaitė (coach Justina Steponaitienė).
Athletes from Lithuania, Estonia, Slovakia, Latvia, Poland, Ukraine, Denmark, Finland and Turkey competed in the girls' group. Boys represented Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Finland, Denmark, Slovenia, Poland and Ukraine. Athletes from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Denmark and Finland took part in the relay race, where teams consisted of 2 boys and 2 girls.
Slovakian representative Margareta Vrablova took the first place in the girls' group, Liis Kapten from Estonia took the second place, and Celina Kaarup from Denmark took the third place. In the boys race, Latvian Artūrs Liepa was the fastest, Polish representative Jan Chrzanowski was the second, and Estonian Gregor Rasva was the third.
In the relay event, the Finnish group was tjhe first, the Estonian team was the second, and the Danes were the third.
