From June 25 to 28, 2025, representatives of Panevėžys city municipality administration took part in the international event “Mentorship Mixer” in Sassari, Italy, organized by the University of Sassari. The event was held under the project “The Power of W – Sustainable Energy for Developing European Towns”, which is co-funded by the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programme of the European Union.

The meeting in Sassari focused on building a cross-European mentorship and knowledge-sharing network that supports women working in or entering the energy sector. Through interactive workshops, roundtable discussions and networking sessions, participants explored ways to reduce gender disparities and encourage more inclusive leadership in sustainable energy development.

Throughout the programme, the discussions highlighted the challenges women still face in the traditionally male-dominated energy sector, and the importance of building international partnerships to exchange good practices and empower local communities. Participants shared real-life experiences, discussed professional growth, and reflected on how to create supportive structures for women in energy-related fields.

The event also contributed to strengthening cooperation between municipalities, academic institutions, and civil society organizations. Panevėžys representatives joined colleagues from other European towns in discussing common goals related to the green transition, equality, and local innovation.

Participation in this event reflects Panevėžys city’s continuous engagement in EU-wide cooperation projects and its strategic focus on sustainable urban development, equal opportunities, and civic inclusion.
