The Ambassador of Czech Republic visited Panevėžys

Deputy Mayors Regina Eitmonė and Maurikijus Grėbliūnas, Deputy Director of Administration Janina Gaidžiūnaitė, Mayor's Advisor Petras Luomanas and the Head of Culture Department Loreta Krasauskienė.
Before the visit to the guests visited the Art School and awarded the participants of the 41st International Children Art Competition LIDICE 2013.
24 593 works from 68 countries of the world were provided for the competition "Traditions and Heritage of the People in my Country".
The participants from Panevėžys were awarded the medal for the collection of works painted by Lukrecija Veršelytė, Martyna Baltušnikaitė, Arnas Lebedevas, Lukrecija Zlatkutė, Emilija Dirsytė, Benas Luomanas. Two pupils Martynas Stirneckas and Estera Kuodytė received Letters of Thanks for sculpture works, the masks. The teachers Kristina Palivonė, Jolanta Rudokienė and Dijana Rudokienė, Irina Nosova were also awarded.
"It is a great pleasure for us that the works of Panevėžys pupils are evaluated at international competitions. Thanks to the Headmaster of the School and the teachers taht pupils were awarded. These achievements let us think that the city artists will make the name of Panevėžys famous all over the world",- said the Mayor V. Satkevičius.
The Head of Culture Department L. Krasauskienė presented the planned events to be organised in Panevėžys next year as the city will be the Capital of Culture of Lithuania in 2014. The Ambassador of Czech Republic was asked to encourage the representatives of culture and art of his country to take an active part in the events.
"By the above mentioned project we try to show people of the city and the country diferent cultures of the world via traditional and modern arts: literature, art, photography, theatre, films, dances, folk art, national cuisine, sports, etc. So, we hope that during the Slavic Week people from Czech Republic will have to show something to people of Panevėžys and its guests",- said L. Krasauskienė.
The Ambassador R. Pech expressed the wish to have closer cooperation in the fields of culture, sports, education and business and accepted the invitation to take part in the events of Cultural Capital of Lithuania 2014.
"We are glad about cultural cooperation of our countries and would like to thank for the possibility to be art of the project ".
The Mayor V. Satkevičius presented Panevėžys cultural and economical situation and investment environment.
