"We are pleased and very much appreciate your visit to Panevėžys. We have to note that, unfortunately, we do not have partner cities in Czech Republic yet, but we do hope to have some in the future. There is sufficient space for the development of mutual cooperation contacts and this visit is a very positive step towards future cooperation",- said the Mayor R. Račkauskas.

"I hope this is not the last time when we visit Panevėžys. I appreciate cooperation contacts not only in the capital city of Lithuania. With pleasure I visit other smaller regions of Lithuania. As far as I know Lithuania does not have very intensive cooperation contacts with Czech Republic. Thus, one of my wishes would be the promotion of Lithuanian- Czech cooperation, especially in the field of business",- said H. E. Mr. V. Korselt.

Economical, cultural, social situation of the city has been presented to the guests. The investment projects under implementation, Panevėžys Free Economic Zone, Robotics Competence Centre "RoboLabas" have been discussed. After the meeting in the City Hall the guests visited Glass Studio "Glasremis" and opened the exhibition "The Most Beautiful Czech Books" at G. Petkevičaitė-Bitė Library.
