The Meeting of Partners of the Project BAUHAUZ- a GREENER EUROPE is taking place in Panevėžys

" Panevėžys is starting to implement one more important project for the city - we are taking one more important step towards creating a sustainable and aesthetic environment. The challenges of climate change encourage us to act responsibly, find and implement environmentally friendly solutions. I am happy to see a strong team full of ideas, which has come together to create a better and greener future for our cities together. I believe that this meeting is the beginning of productive discussions, new ideas and the creation of a sustainable future", said Panevėžys City Vice Mayor Loreta Masiliūnienė.
During the implementation of the project, together with international partners, solutions will be sought to create attractive, aesthetic urban spaces based on ecological design principles and to renovate forgotten urban areas, the overcoming of which would contribute to improving the quality of life of city residents, providing additional ways of spending leisure time in the city. As the effects of climate change become more and more evident, there is a need not only to create environmentally friendly technological solutions, but also to ensure the continuity of the quality of the natural environment, the development of biodiversity, to create conditions for promoting a healthy lifestyle and reducing pollution.
The project "Bauhaus - greener Europe" is planned to be implemented by the middle of 2028. For the implementation of its activities, the city of Panevėžys has allocated over 150,000 EUR. Project partners from the cities of Geel (Belgium), Elverium (Norway), Turin (Italy), Galway (Ireland) and Stara Zagora (Bulgaria) are participating in the project together with Panevėžys City Municipality.
