According to the data, 15 700 tourists visited the city. Out of them 11 771 -Lithuanians, 3 609 are guests from abroad. It is more than 1 300 tourists comparing with the year of 2010 ( 13 859 visitors, out of them- 2 151 from abroad).

To the opinion of Tourism Information Centre, the largest influence on the increase of tourists had European Men Basketball Championship held by the end of August and beginning of September. Most tourists visited the city during these monhs. Earlier, the largest number of tourists used to visit Panevėžys in July.

Lithuanians coming to Panevėžys are greatly interested in the maps of the city and the district, excursions organised  by Tourism Information Centre. Foreigners were interested in  maps, cafes and cheap accommodation  places.
