The President proposed to change the provisions of laws regulating the requirements for the operator of Free Economic Zone. The laws approved by the Parliament determined that the operators of Panevėžys and Kėdainiai Free Economic Zones can be state or municipal institutions, companies or a public institution " Invest in Lithuania".

Ms. D. Grybauskaitė proposed to fix the provision that Free Economic Zone can be managed by a joint-stock company or a closed joint-stock company as it was approved in laws on Marijampolė, Naujoji Akmenė and Šiauliai Free Economic Zones. The Parliament accepted these amendments.

" The law approved by the Parliament unified the conditions of actions and competition to all Free Economic Zones in Lithuania. I hope this law will stimulate local and foreign investors in choosing Panevėžys Industrial Park",- said the Director of Administration of Panevėžys Municipality Kristina Vareikienė.

In the nearest future the National Government will organise the international tender for the best business plan, the preparation of zone status and the selection of the group of establishers. The international tender will be organised by the institution commited by the National Government. The Commission of ther tender and its regulations will be approved by the National Government.  Not less than one person appointed by Panevėžys City Council will be involved into the Commission .
