The Ambassador who was appointed to Lithuania in November last year came to Panevėžys to get acquainted with the authorities of the city, to discuss cultural and business contacts.

" I really glad that Lithuania and the Netherlands keeps nice cultural and business contacts. Last year business turnover between our countries made 1 million Euros. A lot of Dutch companies develop their activities in Lithuania",- said the Ambassador K. W. Spaans.

The Mayor of Panevėžys Vitalijus Satkevičius asked the Ambassador to spread the information about possibilities to invest into Panevėžys Industrial Park, other objects to the businessmen in the Netherlands. The Mayor presented the information about cultural and sports achievements in the city and invited to take part in the biggest events of this year- European U-16 Youngsters Basketball Championship and Elite Cycling Track Championship, 509th Anniversary of the City.

The Mayor V. Satkevičius also stressed the aspect of security in the city: " Panevėžys is the safest city of all largest cities in Lithuania. We are happy that the situation of crimes has changed to a positive one".
