Panevėžys has terminated Partnership Agreements with Russian and Belarus Cities
"There is no justification for the military aggression of Russia and Belarus. The war they provoked is devastating Ukraine, threatening not only the European Union, NATO but also the world as a whole. Brutal military aggression is a serious violation of bilateral, multilateral agreements and conventions of international law. By the unanimous decision of the Members of the City Council, we refuse to cooperate with the cities of Russia and Belarus,”said the Mayor of Panevėžys City Rytis Račkauskas.
The Partnership Agreement with Mytishchi was signed in 2001, with Kaliningrad in 2002 and with Vitebsk in 2018.
