Today, the Ambassador of France to Lithuania, H.E. Ms. Lucie Stepanyan, is visiting Panevėžys with her delegation. This is the ambassador’s first official visit to the capital of Aukštaitija.

“It is important for us to build connections not only at the national, but also at the international level, especially with countries such as France – a nation with deep traditions of culture, innovation, and democracy. I hope that this visit will mark the beginning of new opportunities, as cooperation and close ties create added value – they enrich culture and open new possibilities for economic and social development,” said Panevėžys City Mayor Loreta Masiliūnienė.

During the visit to Panevėžys City Municipality, the guests were presented with the city’s economic, cultural, sports, and educational situation. They discussed the teaching of French language at Panevėžys schools, the strategic directions of the city’s development, and potential areas of cooperation. The ambassador showed the interest in the city’s development projects, the activities of educational institutions, and cultural initiatives in which representatives of France could participate.

After the meeting at the Municipality, the guests are visiting the city’s cultural institutions and business companies.
