Today, the Mayor of Panevėžys City Vitalijus Satkevičius welcomed the President of F.I.B.A Per-Erik Schonberg-Hansen, the Member of the Parliament Petras Luomanas and the General Director of Panevėžys Chamber of Trade, Industry and Crafts Visvaldas Matkevičius.

Per-Erik Schonberg-Hansen presented the Mayor Vitalijus Satkevičius the proposal of the newly appointed Ambassador of Norway to pay a visit to Panevėžys, to meet the authorities and enterpreneurs of the city. The Mayor Vitalijus Satkevičius assured that it would be a great honour for the city to welcome the Ambassador of Norway. The preliminary date for the visit could be June-July.

"From time to time we meet foreign investors and discuss various problems, consult how the Municipality could help in developing business in the city in a smooth way. Today we also invited the Member of the Parliament Petras Luomanas as not all problems could be solved on municipal level",- says the Mayor of Panevėžys Vitalijus Satkevičius.

Per-Erik Schonberg - Hansen expressed appreciations that a Free Economic Zone(FEZ) had been established in Panevėžys.

"It is a pity that this decision took a year and a half. Though, now, when the Parliament has taken the decision at last, the investors have rather favourable conditions. That is why next year, early in spring, the constructions of the company "Devold" where 500 employees work, will start",- said  the President of F.I.B.A. Nevertheless, Per- Erik Schinberg-Hansen  is afraid that in keeping up the directives of EU and selecting the operator of FEZ during the tender, the expences for investors would not increase.

Per-Erik Schonberg-Hansen also expressed the idea that still there is a lack of information for potential investors  about the perspectives of infrastructure of Lithuanian roads. The General Director of Panevėžys Chamber of Trade, Industry and Crafts Visvaldas Matkevičius thinks that this information has to be provided by the Directory of Roads.

" I think this information would be useful not just for F.I.B.A. but also for the Municipality and the Chamber",- says V. Matkevičius.

Other possibilities for providing of information for investors were also discussed with Per-Erik Schonberg Hansen. Though, sufficient information could be found on Municipality and Chamber  web-sites.
