Representatives of Panevėžys City Municipality participated in the second international meeting of the project “Youth Re:Build – Designing Inclusive Futures Together”, held in Niš, Serbia, from 18–21 May 2026.
Panevėžys City Municipality has launched the implementation of the international project “Youth Re:Build: Together Designing an Inclusive Future”, funded by the European Union under the “Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values” (CERV) programme. The project aims to strengthen youth involvement in the creation of inclusive, sustainable and community-oriented public spaces, drawing on the principles of the New European Bauhaus.
On November 17–20, partners of the international CERV programme project “The Power of W – Sustainable Energy for Developing European Towns” gathered in Ventspils, Latvia, for one of the final transnational meetings of the initiative. Panevėžys City Municipality was among the active project partners participating in the event, contributing to discussions on gender equality, women’s leadership and sustainable urban development.
Today, the Ambassador of France to Lithuania, H.E. Ms. Lucie Stepanyan, is visiting Panevėžys with her delegation. This is the ambassador’s first official visit to the capital of Aukštaitija.
This September, residents from across the Baltic Sea Region once again took part in Active Mobility Bingo – a fun but meaningful campaign organised under the SUMPs for BSR project. The initiative was held in celebration of Interreg Cooperation Day 2025 and European Mobility Week, encouraging people to rediscover their cities through walking, cycling, and other sustainable ways of getting around.
On August 24–28, representatives of Panevėžys City Municipality participated in an international project meeting in Smolyan, Bulgaria, organised within the CERV-funded initiative “The Power of W – Sustainable Energy for Developing European Towns” The gathering brought together municipalities and organisations from Spain, Italy, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Latvia and Lithuania, strengthening cooperation among partners and deepening the project’s focus on gender equality in the sustainable energy sector.
Panevėžys once again becomes a centre of international attention — yesterday marked the official opening of the 25th International Ceramics Symposium, which brings together artists from six countries around the world. The event, lasting nearly a month, will invite not only for observations. Participation in exhibitions, educational events, and exploration of contemporary ceramics as one of the most dynamic fields of modern art is very much welcome.
From June 25 to 28, 2025, representatives of Panevėžys city municipality administration took part in the international event “Mentorship Mixer” in Sassari, Italy, organized by the University of Sassari. The event was held under the project “The Power of W – Sustainable Energy for Developing European Towns”, which is co-funded by the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programme of the European Union.
The Commander of the German Army Aviation Brigade, Brigadier General Dr. Volker Bauersachs, visited Panevėžys City Municipality. He was accompanied by Captain Mangirdas Valeckas, Head of the S5 Section of the Staff of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Infantry Brigade "Iron Wolf", the King Mindaugas Hussar Battalion.
Today, a meeting of the partners of Latvia-Lithuania programme project "Healthy Aging" took place at Panevėžys City Municipality. The participants were welcomed by the Mayor of Panevėžys City Loreta Masiliūnienė. During the meeting, the partners were introduced to the activities of the project being implemented in Panevėžys, experiences were shared, and discussions was held on the importance of promoting physical activity in aging communities.
